No recipe...just talking about "Dates"
Well, how many of you like Dates? Not date, dates with the opposite sex, but the fruit "Dates"?
Did you know that they relieve anxiety? According to Jonny Bowden, author of The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth, a single handful boasts more potassium (which regulates the heartbeat and breathing rate) than an entire banana! Dates also ease stress and help to unkink muscles." According to Bowden, dates contain an almost perfect one-to-one ratio of calcium and magnesium, which work in harmony to calm the nervous system".
Hope you kept a few dates for after the holidays too!
Info for you to Ponder:
In yoga class we often sit in what is called "Gian Mudra" thumb tip and tip of index finger touching...this is called a "mudra"...this is the mudra used in most meditations.
It is said that it increases 'wisdom, calmness and receptivity.
The index finger is represented by the planet Jupiter which is known as the planet of 'expansion'.
Well, I found out that in 'Reflexology" they say if you have trouble sleeping and hold this position with your hands for 5 minutes it will help you fall asleep!
The reason is that the thumb is connected to the pineal gland which controls or is responsible for inducing sleep and balancing the sleep/wake cycle.
Well, if this mudra increases calmness, makes sense to me! I have now tried it and it works!
