Mondays:
Kundalini Yoga Class for beginners and intermediate levels:
6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
All yoga derives from Hatha Yoga - Hatha is the most known because it is the base or the foundation for the different forms of yoga, e.g. "Kundalini Yoga". Differences lie in the techniques used. Kundalini uses various forms of breath together with the postures. Depending on the flow or the sequence of the kriyas which are a combination of 'asanas' (postures) used make it another form of Yoga, such as Ashtanga Yoga, or Sivananda Yoga, etc. But, it is all 'yoga'!
Yoga means "to bind" to "bring together", in this case bring your body, mind and spirit together. Bringing you a sense of peace and well-being.
There are many forms or disciplines of yoga. Each one is unique, yet similar and by trying different disciplines of yoga you will find what works best for you and what you enjoy doing.
Yoga is not competitive, we are all at different levels and places with our abilities and physical capabilities. Wherever you are on any given day is your best! We learn to listen to our bodies and treat the body with respect.
When doing yoga you must remember to do what you can with no forcing...the most important thing is to pay attention to the breath...the body will follow the breath and before you know it, you are doing things you never thought you could!
The "in-breath" expands and brings in to your body, mind and spirit a fullness, a feeling of expansion, healing and growth and with the "out-breath" you feel a sense of release as you allow your body, mind and spirit to let go of tension, holding and forcing. It's a great feeling!
For all Classes: Bring your mat, water, blanket, small pillow...wear comfortable loose clothing.
Please be there at least 5-10 minutes before class starts so you can set up and ask questions if you have any and mingle with your Yoga buddies!
